Crewmember Dies After Fall To Ship’s Deck

A man died last week after a fall on the deck of a ship docked at the ExxonMobil Refinery in Beaumont, Texas.According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the chief officer of the Mystic Striker, 44-year-old Andrey Pakholchuck, of Russia, was struck by a mooring line that snapped, knocking him onto the ship’s deck.

Emergency teams responded to the accident, bu Pakholchuk was later pronounced dead. An autopsy has been ordered as part of the investigation into the incident.

The Mystic Striker is owned and operated by Greece-based company Enterprise Shipping & Trading S.A.
