A cruise ship accident on the Coral Princess in Colon, Panama, left one crewmember dead and another injured.

The accident on the 2,000-passenger Princess Cruises ship occurred on Oct. 24 while a rescue boat was being raised. The two crewmembers were aboard the smaller boat performing maintenance when a cable that was raising the boat snapped. The rescue boat dropped into the water.

The Coral Princess, which has been in service since 2003, was in the midst of a 12-night cruise that originated out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It was sailing to the South Caribbean and Central America at the time of the incident.
